Movie responce

Street art is illegal because it is destructive to private property. The people do not have the "go ahead" by the city or the building owners to draw over their property so that makes it illegal. Street art could be categorized as either graffiti or art, it can be seen as art because it is nice to look at and creative but it also can be considered graffiti because it is illegal and seen around the city.

I feel that Mr. Brainwash is not a true street artist because he did not go through the experiences that build up and make a true artist who they are. He only created things because he was taught by the best of the best. The only reason he made it big was because of the well known artists sticking up for him.

I feel that Banksy only takes over Guetta's film becuase Guetta did not know how to truely make a documentory. Banksy did this for a good cause, he wanted to show the true life of street art so I feel that he did it for the right reasons.

Banksy assumes production of the film and takes over as director becuase he feels that the true reason for street art needs to be shown. Banksy wanted to show the world of street art from those who do it. He wanted to show that it's not about the money or fame but about the common goal of getting an idea out.
I beleive that Banksy is a friend of Guetta because he was very intimate about keeping his identity a secret, but he trusted Guetta so he took him along with him and taught him everythign he knew.

The Disneyland debacle I beleive went a step too far for Banksy. I beleive that Banksy only wanted to do this stunt in rememberance of what happened on that day, but It caused a lot of trouble and could have been even worse if officials did not notice it right away.
Guetta is succesful in his art show because he pulls it off, has a lot of people show up and he makes a lot of money. In a sense this also makes him fail, because these art shows were never about the money to the other artists, but to Guetta it is only about the money.
I beleive that Mr. Brainwash's fans only became his fans because he came so highly reccomended by all the big names in street art. They beleive in the hype and what is big at the time. If they saw the documentary i think that they would understand that Mr. brainwash is not a true street artist and that they would stop buying a lot of his work.
I beleive that this is truely Banksy's film. I think it is called "Exit Through the Gift Shop" becuase at the end of the movie in Guetta's art show he is putting random prices on everything and trying to sell all his art just for the money. That's why his art show is considered a gift shop, the goal is to just sell and make profit.

I do not beleive the film was a hoax becuase it showed the true life of a street artist and it also showed the true evolution of Mr. brainwash. I beleive Banksy just wanted to show the truth of the street artist life but he also showed how Mr. brainwash turned the whole meaning of street art around for the wrong reasons. I thin kMr. brainwash did evolve over night because he only had ONE big show, and it was only big becuase of his high reccomendations from his friends.

Guetta's selling of art and making a lot of money gives the street art world a bad name. It makes it seem like to people and the media that street art is a joke and that it is all about the money and fame. When really street art was always about a passion and love that people had for what they were doing. They beleived that they had a real meaning to get out to the world, but Mr. Brainwash turned that meaning and idea around.
