There are many important people in the world who have made huge strides politically, medically or even socially. Choosing only one person to write a profile on will be  a difficult process of narrowing these unique characters down to only one.

The first person I am considering writing a Profile on is Albert Einstein. He was an amazingly smart man who did so much for the world of science. I am considering him as an option because I am a Biology/Pre-Med major, and i believe that it is important to understand where the information I'm learning came from. Also, profiling him would help me get in the mind of someone who has some of the same goals and it would help me better understand the future ahead of me.

The second person I am considering Profiling is George W. Bush. I feel that he was a very important person and that profiling him would be very interesting form a political side. My family and I are Republicans and we all supported George W. Bush so I would be interested in getting to understand his presidency better and all the controversy that went along with it. People made him out to be such a horrible President but I never believed this and I would like to dig up some of these facts.

Darwin is also someone that I consider profiling. He also contributed countless amounts of information to science including things like survival of the fittest, genotypes and phenotypes. Seeing as my major is Biology he has everything to do with it. I believe it would be very interesting and helpful for me to better understand him and how he effected the way we use science today.

Atul Gawande is also someone I consider profiling because of his immense knowledge on medicine. He conducts multiple research that has to do with the medical fields, and this is interesting to me because I am currently working in a research lab for Kent. He also published a book that I am very interested in reading and i believe that profiling him could give me some very useful information.

Charles Horac Mayo is a very famous doctor who started the first and largest non profile medical clinic. He and his brother worked together to make sure that everyone could receive proper medical treatment.

Christiaan Barnard was a doctor who did research on animals for heart and kidney transplants. He was the first doctor to ever perform these two amazing surgeries on humans. Without his research we would not be where we are today with these two very important transplants.

Fredrick Banting worked to discover the treatment of diabetes. This work hugely impacted the world seeing as today the rise of diabetes is constantly inclining. With every generation more and more people are expected to have diabetes younger and younger. For this reason his work on finding insulin was astronomical.

Orvan Hess was a very important doctor in medical history. He and another doctor were the first to treat patients with penicillin. He also created a fetal heart monitor to help monitor pregnant woman. His basic design is the one still used today on woman.

Josheph Lister was a doctor who studied infections. He worked for years to discovering the answers to why infections spread and how to treat infections. His pioneer work has led to hospitals and doctors today using the techniques for sterilizing that they do.
